The Importance of Family Fun In NH

What do you picture when you think about a close family unit? Do you visualize togetherness, having fun, and building lasting memories? Or do you see everyone sitting separately playing on phones, working on computers, or watching movies on their tablets? Fun as a Family Tradition 6Today, more than ever, it’s important to plan activities that bring the family together and out of the blue light.  Having fun as a family is an important part of building a strong family identity. When families have fun together, they build bonds that can last a lifetime.  As parents, you also have the opportunity to set the example and create lasting traditions in addition to those treasured memories. These are the things that help define and individualize each family and are often carried on as the families expand through generations. Get Active & Be Creative In addition to having fun, think about how you can be active and creative as a family. Instead of watching television or going to a movie or the mall, plan recreation that encourage interaction. Enjoy each other as well as the activity, whether it’s a game of basketball, a round of cards, karaoke, creating art, or just sitting out on the deck talking and laughing together. Camping, fishing, biking, walking, and hiking are also great forms of family recreation. Guess what, parents? It’s up to us to take the initiative and make these things happen. When we make ourselves available, we show that we value our family and having fun together. As a result, our family relationships will grow stronger.
