INSTRUCTIONS:
Base Coat:

Wipe piece down with a damp sponge. Do not soak the piece.
Using the same damp sponge scoop up some of the Key Lime Pie and swipe it around
the pitcher as well as the inside of the rim.. The handle can be swiped  from top to
bottom. For a very light base you can just apply the one coat. For a darker color apply
two coats. You don’t want it to be solid.  Try to keep it a fairly even coat of paint. It
should look light and streaky following the texture of the piece. Rinse the sponge and
scoop up a small amount of Lime Ricky. Sparingly apply the paint the same as you did
the Lime Ricky but only here and there varying how firmly you apply the paint. Let dry.

Trace and Transfer design:

Using a pencil trace the design on to the tissue.  Place the traced image onto the piece
in the desired location and secure it with painters tape. Using the sharpie trace the
penciled design onto the piece.

Image:

Lemonade- Pour a quarter size amount of the What a Yolk onto a palate. Scoop up the
paint using the fine tipped brush. You want to have a small “ball” of paint on the tip. Fill
in the corners of the letters and any spaces that might be too thin for the small brush..
Pull the paint along barely touching the piece with the tip. You can keep using the fine
tipped brush to till in the rest of the letter, or use the small brush. This should be a coat
of paint that is a bit raised. If you follow this technique you only have to apply two
coats. If you are unsure always apply one more coat to be safe.

Lemons/Leaves/flower- while the first coat of lettering is drying apply the first coat of
What a Yolk to the lemons leaving space for the leaves and flower. The leaves are 3
coats Lime Ricky, the flower Polar Bear. Alternate finishing up your last coat of lettering
with the coats of paint on the lemon and leaves and flower.
With the fine point brush dab one coat smiley face in center of the lemons, a swipe
Mellow Yellow on top with a few dabs of white.. Use the Pumpkin to paint a few dots and
squiggles on the edges.  Apply one coat of Kermit to the underside of the leaves.

Outlining:

The outlining is done all in Black Lab. You can use either the black writer pen with a
yellow tip or the fine tip brush. Using the writer pen gently squeeze the bottle and follow
the outline of the letters, lemons, leaves, flowers and the word fresh. Use the pin to
keep the tip clear of dried paint. This will keep the paint flowing smoothly.
If you want to use the brush use the same technique as the writing. Scooping up a ball
of paint and pulling it along. You should be leaving a trail of paint that is thick enough
to be solid with no need for another coat. Make sure to not miss any of the outlines in
the lemons flowers or leaves.
