INSTRUCTIONS:

MAKE IT YOUR OWN:

When choosing your piece keep in mind how many signatures will be on your plate.
You can use a background color if you choose. Use a very light color or lightly sponge
a coat of paint for a back ground. You want those messages to show! Select colors or
the image that match your school, skin and hair color.  Personalize it with your
Graduates name & school logo or your own message.  Never hesitate to enlist the help
of the experienced YF staff. We are here to help!

Steps:

1. Wipe down your piece to remove dust. If you choose to have a background color,
paint or sponge your piece now.

2. While paint is drying trace with pencil the image onto the tracing paper.

3. While piece is drying, place the tracing paper on top of the trace and
transfer image. Use the pencil trace the image. Cut the image to a manageable
size and center on the piece. You can tape the tracing paper on top of the piece or
enlist a helping set of hands to hold it in place while using the sharpie to trace the
penciled image onto the piece.

4. Remove tracing paper.

5. In order to have nice solid colors you will need to apply 3-4 solid coats of paint.
Think thin frosting when applying paint.

6. With pencil write the name and or message around the rim of piece. If you make a
mistake you can easily “erase“ with your finger. Any smudges will burn off during the
firing process..

7. Using the black writer pen you can now outline the image and finish up the writing.
Pencil in where you want the eyes to be and using the writer pen apply a dot of paint
for each eye.

8. Mix an equal amount of This Lil’ Piggy and Polar Bear together. With fine tip brush
apply just a thin coat of paint on the cheeks.
